According to the viewpoints of aesthetics of environment, Mara Miller studies the difficulties of western aesthetics and art theory in thinking of the nature of gardens; she thinks of garden as an art and as an art garden creating a world of semblance, but such world is consistent with the real world; she thinks the signifier and the signified are different to those in language and so the garden has an aesthetic universality.
