在简要综述国内学者对江苏省区域文化认识的基础上，对江苏省区域文化进行空间划分，提出以徐州为中心的淮海文化的基本含义，对淮海文化的形成、分期与发展进行了概述，阐析了淮海文化“尊礼重义、质朴正统，刚毅强悍、尚武大气，南北交融、开放豁达”的性格特征。

Based on a summary of domestic and foreign scholars＇ understanding of regional culture of Jiangsu Province, the writer of this thesis deals with the space division of Jiangsu＇s regional culture, puts forward an idea of Huaihai culture with Xuzhou as its center, gives a general account of its formation, stage division and development, expounds and analyses its characteristics in nature, ie courteous and righteous, plain and orthodox, indomitable and valiant, wu-valuing and magnanimous, open-minded and reasy- going.
