佛教,起源于印度,自两汉之时传入中国后,对汉语的发展产生了广泛而深刻的影响,其中对汉语词汇的影响则尤为明显。佛教的传入和佛经的翻译给汉语词汇增添了大量有关佛教色彩的新词语,极大地丰富了汉语的词汇量。佛经的传译促进了汉语词汇的发展,创造了不少新的双音词与多音词,同时也使汉语的构词法得到进一步的丰富和发展。此外,佛教对我们的日常用语和成语都产生了深远的影响。

Buddhism,which originates from India,is introduced to China in the Han Dynasty. It has produced a profound effect on the Chinese language,especially on the Chinese vocabulary. With the wide spread and translation of Buddhism in China,a large number of new words and expressions are added to the Chinese word list. Meanwhile, the translaton of Buddhist scriptures accelerates the development of the Chinese vocabulary,and helps to coin a lot of disyllabic and polysyllabic words and to promote the Chinese word-formation process. In addition, the spread of Buddhism has also greatly influenced our words and expressions for everyday use.
