With the advent of the da Vinci surgical system, a new powerful tool has been created to further minimize surgical access, thus allowing true closed chest totally endoscopic procedures. The use of these techniques necessitates a learning curve itself, requires an experienced anesthesiologist and a better communication between the surgeons, the anesthesiologists, and the perfusionists. This article outlines anesthetic strategies and clinical experience for robotic cardiac surgery.
