Mental Coherence and Textual Translation

译文语篇生成过程是一个将原语语篇连贯表征下的心智连贯转化为基于相似心智连贯的译语语篇连贯表征的过程。在译文生成过程中,译者应充分考虑两种语言在连贯性表征上的差异,分析目标读者解读译文时的认知世界,恰当建构译文连贯性。

The process of generating the target text in translation can be regarded as one of transforming the mental coherence underlying the original textual representation of coherence into the target textual representation of coherence with the similar underlying mental coherence. In the process, the translator should consider fully the difference in coherence representation between the two languages and analyze the cognitive world with which the target reader interprets the target text, thus constructing adequate coherence in the target text.
