In the current background of intellectual economy,universities library reader service work has undergone a fundamental change,scientifically foreseen its development trend and strategy,and effectively promoted the service quality and work level of the universities libraries.This paper has discussed and analyzed that the development trend and strategy for university library reader service work.The paper has pointed out that university libraries should persist in the principle of ＂serves first,the reader is supreme＂,adapted modernization technology development,understood the reader＇s need,established a perfect reader service system,developed special services,improved the knowledge structure of library staff＇,in so doing,can the libraries be able to have a stand in future fierce competition.
