诗歌离不开意象,诗歌翻译中的意象处理关系着诗歌翻译的成功与否,具有极重要的意义。但凡优秀的诗歌译作,都凝聚着译者在意象处理中的匠心独用,精思巧构。阐述了意象在诗歌翻译中的作用和意义。并分析归纳了意象难译的三点原因:文化的差异,诗歌的模糊性,诗歌翻译中的"意"与"形"之间的矛盾。提出了意象处理的基本原则:非比喻性意象应该保留,比喻性意象应该变通。

Poems could not exist without images. In translation of poems, it is of great importance to process these images. All good translations of poems undoubtedly involve translators＇wisdom of dealing with images. This paper discusses the role and significance of images in translation of poems, and analyzes three main factors contributing to the difficulty in processing images in translation of poems, which are cultural differences, ambiguity of poems, and dilemma of translation in keeping both meanings and forms. Finally, the paper puts forward the basic principle for processing images in translation of poems： for figurative images, they should be loyally retained; for non-figurative images, they should be flexibly transformed.
