林业产业融合是指与林业具有紧密联系的产业或林业产业内部的不同行业之间,通过融合形成新的产业或合成产业。林业产业融合使原有的产业边界模糊甚至消失,塑造出新型的横向产业结构,产生了信息型林业、观光型林业、标准化林业与林业加工业、林产品物流业、综合型林业等边缘、交叉产业,拉长了林业产业链条,聚集并释放出林业产业内部所具有的潜力。因此,大力推进林业与其他产业的融合,是实现林业产业化的新路径。
