20世纪90年代以来,叙事大规模"入侵"现代诗,产生了多种多样的类型与变种。认真评估其功能、性质和作用是十分必要的。叙事性已从技术手段、修辞策略上升为现代诗的一种思维方式,它带来的最大益处,是大大提升了诗人处理复杂事物的能力。但理想的状态,应是抒情性与叙事性的有机溶解。

Contemporary poems have contained elements of narration since the 1990s, and there have been many successful styles and variations of contemporary poems. So it is very important to judge and evaluate the functions, effects and characters of narration. Narration is not a kind of technique of a rhetoric strategy, but a way of thinking in contemporary poems. The biggest advantage is to provide the poets with the ability to deal with complex events. However, the integration of the narrative and the lyricism would be an ideal condition.
