The Dart Confraternities were born in Chinese traditional society, and the Dart Master was a combination of Chinese traditional moralities: from Confucianism, Taoism, the folk grass root, as well as the orthodox society; all have been burnished by history itself. With the general humiliating background when Western Powers violently woke up China from her Oriental great dream, the outstanding martial arts and far-reaching fames of the Dart Confraternities have gone forever, like a dream. The rise and fall of the Dart Confraternities were closely related to the fierce alterations happened in Chinese society caused by the western intruders coming to the East, and therefore re ect the historical changes in a greater picture.
