纵贯南北 横连东西——我国“五纵七横”国道主干线基本贯通

5 Vertical & 7 Horizontal National Lines Completed

经过近15年，特别是“十五”、和“十一五”的建设，总规模约3．5万公里的“五纵七横”国道主干线于去年年底基本贯通，初步构筑了我国区域和省际间横连东西、纵贯南北、连接首都的国家公路骨架网络，形成了国家高速，公路网的雏形。它与省道、县乡公路、农村公路组成了我国目前的公路网络，为国民经济社会发展提供了坚实的基础和保证。

After 15 years’ construction (especially during the 10th & 11th Five Year Plan time period), 5 Vertical & 7 Horizontal national lines have been completed with total length of 35,000 kilometers. The new national lines connect different provinces nationwide and form framework of national highway network, which provide a solid foundation and guarantee to country economy and social development.
