Evidence-based Medicine （EBM） is a clinical medicine that has developed rapidly in recent years. Theoretics and methodology of EBM has been used in various aspects of medical decision and clinical practice. This paper has analyzed the necessity of practising EBM in anesthesiological field. EBM has brought about fimdamental changes in anaesthesiology through convincing clinical evidence. Every anesthesiologist should have not only rich clinical experience and technical skills but also theoretics and methodology of EBM, utilizing the best evidence to guide the practice of anesthesia and respecting the wishes and values of patients.
