According to vulnerable properties of steel wire rope the selection of steel wire rope for lifts is calculated. Based upon analysis of the reasons caused the wear, fatigue and other mechanical damages of steel wire rope practical protective measures are proposed in order to instruct lifting transportation management to ensure construction safety.
