Atmospheric duct propagation models were discussed and the research of parabolic equation model was overviewed. A brief overview about parabolic equation model was made. The history of study on parabolic equation model was explained. The principle or algorithm of parabolic equation was summarized, including perfect conductor, impedance, rough sea surface or irregular terrain boundary condition circumstance. The development and problems of parabolic equation model were also put forward.
