党的十七大报告指出:"科学发展,社会和谐,是发展中国特色社会主义的基本要求。"这是以胡锦涛为总书记的党中央,坚持以马克思列宁主义、毛泽东思想、邓小平理论和"三个代表"重要思想为指导,全面贯彻落实科学发展观,从中国特色社会主义事业总体布局和全面建设小康社会全局出发提出的重大战略任务,反映了建设富强民主文明和谐的社会主义现代化国家的内在要求,体现了全党全国人民的共同愿望。

The 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China points out that ＂scientific development and harmonious society are the basic requirements for building socialism with Chinese characteristics.＂ The Contral Committee, headed by Hu Jintao, the general secretary of the Communist Party of China, persists in Marxism - Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, follows the guidance of Deng Xiaoping Theory and the important thought of ＂Three Represents＂ and thoroughly applies the Scientific Outlook on Development. From the starting point of building socialism with Chinese characteristics and a moderately prosperous society in all respects, the Central Committee puts forward a significantly strategic task. It not only reflects the inherent demand of building the nation into a prosperous, strong, democratic and civilized socialist modernization nation, but also represents the common wish of the whole Party and the people.
