"差异"由对事物性状的界定而逐渐裹挟本体论涵义,最后升格为差异理论。它由尼采和索绪尔发端,经解构哲学和后现代思潮而臻于成熟。差异理论对当代文化研究影响甚剧,这从当代文化研究的两个热门分支即种族研究和性属研究热衷于凸显"差异"的倾向上可见一斑。文化研究对差异理论的张扬导引对文化差异、文化冲突的偏爱,最终则导致文化研究的泛政治化倾向。

Difference, which is said to define what properties things have, has its ontological meaning and later on upgrades the theory on difference. Beginning from F. Nietzsche and F. D. Saussure, it matures after deconstruction philosophy and post - modem thoughts. Under its deep influence, contemporary cultural studies are fond of racial studies and gender and ethnic stud- ies, of which two branches crave for its ＂Difference＂. This promotion to the cultural difference and cultural conflict cause the pan - politicization tendency of it.
