岑参的诗歌中既表现出诗人希望安闲宁静的隐逸生活的愿望,又表现出强烈追求功名的思想,这两种想法一直矛盾着,但诗人不得不在这矛盾中选择追求功名这条道路,并注入了极大的热情,这就使岑诗有了某种悲壮的风格。这种悲壮有着与众不同的内涵,它是由于诗人生活理想与生活实际的巨大矛盾,以及他在这矛盾中不得不做出抉择而产生的,这种悲壮感是读者阅读岑参诗歌的总体感觉。

The poems of Cen Shen reflect, on the one hand, the poet＇s wish of a relaxed tranquil and solitary life, and on the other hard, the thought of strong pursuit of official rank. The two thoughts are contradictory, but the poet has to make the latter choice in the contradiction and pours into great enthusiasm, which makes the solemn and stirring style of his poems. This solem- nity and stir has different connotation which comes from the contradiction of the poet~ wish and practical life and the choice he has to make in the contradiction as well. This solemnity and stir is the total sense of readers in reading Cen Shen＇ s poems.
