The Position and Functions of Confucianism in the Construction of a Harmonious Socialist Society

由于社会生产方式、经济基础以及社会环境的巨大差异,古典儒家思想已经不能适用于现代社会的发展,虽然其可以作为构建社会主义和谐社会的可资借鉴的思想资源,但是不可能作为指导思想。在当代中华道德思想文化谱系中,虽然有古典儒家思想的成分,但由于它有机地融合了中国各历史时代和其他国家或地区的优秀思想文化,远比古典儒家思想丰富和深刻,因而更适合现代社会。构建社会主义和谐社会的指导思想只能是马克思主义。

For the great changes of the production mode, economic basis and social environment, the classical Confucianism, no longer in line with the development of modem society, can not be used as the guiding principle although it can serve for reference as the thought resources for the construction of a harmonious socialism society. Though the classical Confucianism is an element of the contemporary cultural system of Chinese morality and thinking, it has been integrated with the excellent cultures of China＇s past historical periods and of other countries and regions, and it is therefore, far deeper-going and richer than the original classical Confucianism and more adaptable to the modem society, The guiding principle for building a harmonious socialist society can only be Marxism.
