The paper investigates the nature of the so-called Little Learning documents included in the Book of Arts of the Chronicles of Han, suggesting that these documents are comprehensive in nature, that the Eight Types and Six Skills is in fact a misnomer of Six Treatises on the Eight Types, that the Miscellaneous Notes is an appendix for illiterates and that the Words Alias section is in fact another name for Regional Speech.
