论弗雷格的涵义

On Frege's Sense

区分语言表达式的涵义和指称是弗雷格意义理论的著名观点,但由于弗雷格从未给"涵义"以精确的定义,因而涵义问题至今仍然是哲学,尤其是语言哲学争论的焦点问题。从认知价值和同一关系两方面,弗雷格认为必须区分涵义和指称。涵义在弗雷格系统中主要有三种功能,由于概念模糊而功能广泛,弗雷格的涵义概念产生了诸多困惑。

Frege＇s distinction between sense and reference of an expression is his well-known theory. However Frege＇s sense remains to be a point at issue in philosophy, and especially in philosophy of language since Frege has never defined ＂sense＂ precisely. This paper analyzes Frege＇s reasons for the distinction, discusses the three functions in Frege＇s theory, and comments on the puzzling concept caused by Frege＇s sense.
