“我者”与“他者”——儒道文化与当代社会

Self vs. Other——Confucianism, Taoism and Modern Society

孔子主张"己所不欲,勿施于人。"站在"我者"的立场上以推己及人的思想方法关照对象世界。庄子则站在"他者"的立场,认为对象世界的本质属性不同,因此没有同一的尺度,只能认同对象世界的合理性。面对当代社会的很多矛盾,怎样求同存异,逐步走向融合、大同,这是值得思考的问题。

Confucius maintains that ＂Do as you would be done by others.＂ It is a way to look at the object world from the standpoint of ＇Self＇. While Zhuangzi, taking the standpoint of ＂Others＂, believes that the nature of the object world is different, therefore there＇s no same criteria. What one can do is to accept the rationality of the object world. It is worthwhile to consider how to seek a common ground while reserve differences in such a world full of conflicts.
