香港高校英语增润课程对内地大学英语课程设置的启示

Implications of Hong Kong Higher Education Institutions’ English Enhancement Courses for China's Mainland’s College English Curriculum Design in post College English era

本文对比了后大学英语时代我国香港和内地高校面向在校大学生开设的英语课程的设置情况。对比发现,在该门课程开设数量、种类、师资和研究支持等方面内地都较香港落后。笔者建议我国国内高校可以从加强大学英语教学研究,实行大学英语课程完全选、免修制度,建立优质大学英语课程超市的途径来应对。

This paper addresses the issue of college English curriculum in post College English era China's Mainland via a comparative study on the College English curriculum design in higher education institutions in both China's Mainland and the Hong Kong SAR. The study shows that in terms of quantity, variety of the program, teaching staff strength and research support, so on and so forth, China's Mainland is relatively backward. The author proposes that institutions of higher education in China's Mainland should respond to the situation by strengthening relevant research, implementing complete elective and exemption course system, and setting up a high quality College English course supermarket.
