The Cognitive Analysis on the Time Metaphor in Chinese

隐喻是汉语中时间表达的重要手段。人们通过其他具体形象的概念来认知时间这一抽象概念,实体隐喻、空间隐喻和结构隐喻是时间隐喻的主要方法。汉语时间表达的隐喻性从一个方面证明了隐喻在人类语言中占有重要地位。

Metaphor was an important means of expressing time in Chinese. People knew time was an abstract conception through other conceptions of concrete images. Ontological metaphors, orientational metaphors and structure metaphor were the main ways of time metaphor. The character of the metaphor expressed by time in Chinese was proved from one certain aspect that metaphor played an important rule in human language.
