This paper explains the conception and development of information literacy and information literacy education, and introduces the situation of the teaching of document retrieval course. Afterwards the paper points out not only the great significance to reform the teaching of document retrieval course,but also how to construct reasonable.scientific.perfect course system,integrate teaching content, arouse the information requirement of students, emphasis cultivation of information consciousness and information morality, adopt varieties of teaching methods, reinforce construction of teachers troops, research teaching art etc.
