The author synthesized a series of chrome-containing organic compounds performing very promising characteristics when used as hardener in photographic materials,e. g. easy to synthesize, low production cost, maintaining high stability even after long keeping, high hardening efficiency and high hardening speed. The paper outlines also the mechanism of cross linking of gelatin molecules by the hardener.
