青年是国家和民族的未来与希望,他们的思想道德状况如何,将会对该国家和民族的前途命运产生重要的影响。对青年实施良好的道德教育,使他们养成良好的道德思维和能力,对社会的稳定、和谐,对社会的发展具有十分重要的作用和意义。我国正处于社会转型时期,传统的青年道德教育在新时期产生了很多问题。美国历史上曾经有过相似的状况,认真研究和借鉴其在道德教育领域的先进经验,搞好我国的青年道德教育,无疑是社会各界特别是德育工作者的重要历史责任。

Youths are the future and hope of a country, and the condition of whose thought and morality can greatly affect the fortune of their country and nation. It is significant to the development of the society to have a good morality education on them and help them cultivate nice morality thought and competence. We are in the stage of social transformation, and there are some problems in our traditional morality and thought education to the youths. America had experienced the same period. So it is the workers＇ historical responsibility in this field to carefully study and refer to other advanced experiences in this field from other countries, and to do well of the education work.
