Stem cell therapy in diabetes mellitus: Dream or reality

摘要 干细胞具有强大的增生能力和多向分化潜能。由于干细胞可定向分化为胰岛素分泌细胞、血管内皮细胞等组织细胞类型,故在糖尿病及其并发症治疗中展示了良好的应用前景。本文对干细胞治疗糖尿病的研究领域中若干焦点问题和发展趋势进行简要的评论。 An important property of stem cells is their ability to self-renew and to differentiate into multi-lineage cells. Stem cells have been shown to differentiate into many cell types, such as insulin-secreting cells and vascular endothelial cells, and therefore offer the promise of a new regenerative medicine in the treatment of diabetes and its complications. The issues and progress involved in the stem cell therapy of diabetes are briefly commented in this article.
