The behavior of 10 mm-thick toughened glass exposed to fire was studied in ISO 9705 room. Eight full-scale enclosure fire tests, in which a glazing assembly exposed to different oil pan fires in the central position of the room, were conducted. The results presented include heat release rate, heat flux, enclosure and local gas temperature, exposed glass surface temperature, shaded glass surface temperature, time to first crack and crack pattem. The relationships between glass breakage and parameters like glass surface temperature distribution are analyzed. The data and conclusions can be used for estimating the occurrence of cracking and the failure of toughened glazing assembly in the performance-based fire prevention design.
