摘要
本文研究分析了在询问、给予建议的语境下,中国学习者与英国本土人各自对话中的几个典型模糊情态动词的运用情况。旨在将分析结果作为提高学生的语用能力的指导策略。
This study compares the usage of the several selected epistemic modals as hedging devices-could, think, you know and maybe-in the corpus of English conversation on asking for/offering advice by a group of Chinese sophomores of English major and in that of the native speakers, i.e. British people, to find out similarities and differences between them. The findings of the study are expected to guide the EFL teaching, which aims at improving pragmatic competence in EFL classes.
