Forest Chemicals Industry to Face Challenges from EU REACH Rules

林化产品指林产化工类商品，主要为松香、松节油、松香树脂等，均用做各种化工产业的原料。我国年产75～80万吨松香，13万吨松节油和10万吨左右的松香树脂，是世界上最大的林化产品生产国；同时，我国也是世界上最大的林化产品出口国，年均出口40万吨松香，2万吨松节油和10万吨松香树脂。2006年，松节油出口1860万美元，松香出口3．7亿美元，松香树脂出口1．5亿美元，其中对欧出口分别占48％、27％和16％。

China remains the largest producer and exporter of forest chemicals products in the world, with an annual export of 400 000 tons of gum rosin, 20 000 tons of turpentine oil and 100 000 tons of pine resin on average. In 2006, the export of gum rosin, turpentine oil and pine resin reached 18.6 million, 370 million and 150 million US dollars respectively, of which the export to Europe accounted for 48%, 27% and 16% respectively. At present, the whole chemical industry, including the forest chemicals industry, is facing the challenges of REACH rules newly introduced by EU. The forest chemicals firms under CFNA have to study it seriously and cope with it cautiously.
