The stunt was part of NBC＇s ＂Green is Universal＂ campaign, a week-long saga of eco-themed programming designed to show Americans how to conserve energy. Global warming is a hot topic these days-Al Gore recently won the Nobel Peace Prize in part for his film An Inconvenient Truth and book claiming that fossil fuel consumption has put our planet in peril-and NBC wanted fans to turn off their own extra lights.
