Here is introduced an integrated computerized control system of hospital drugs which carries out a streamlined administration of the material flow and corresponding financial circulation of Western drugs, Chinese traditional medicines, herbal medicines, preparations, chemical reagents and different other pharmacruticals in the medicine warehouse, pharmacy, reagent department, and many other units of a hospital. The system has a control capacity for planned purchase, warehouse dispatch, stock taking, period of validity, drugs that are poisonous, anaesthetic and expensive, outpatient and emergency prescription, pricing, and dispensation, wardroom prescribed medicines, the packaging of outpatient contracted prescribed medicines, the united management of drug price changes, drug accounting, the collection and statistics of data and the drafting of report tables, data retrievals, digitized communication, and system maintenance. The system is characterized by the integration and standardization of data processing, friendliness of clients and functional flexibility. Technological points in the course of the development of this system are also discussed in this article.
