My View on the Reform of College Non-English-major English Teaching for Graduates

目前的大学本科公共英语教学改革纲要以及新修改的教学大纲以素质教育和学生的发展为根本宗旨,以培养学生的综合语言运用能力为目标,根据外语学习的规律和我国目前大学外语教学发展的现状和需求,力求从教学的目的、目标、理念、内容、实施策略、实施手段和评价等方面进行重大的改革。这里分析了我国大学本科公共英语教学的现状,并提出了改革目标及应采取的对策。

Currently the reform guidelines of college non-English-major English teaching for graduates as well as the newly-revised syllabus, aiming at quality education and students＂ development and targeting to cultivate students＂ comprehensive language ability, make efforts to launch dramatic reforms in the area of the goal, aim ,concept, contents, strategies, methods and evaluation of teaching according to the regulation of foreign language learning as well as the status quo and requirements of nowadays college English teaching. This paper analyzes the status quo of college non-English-major English teaching, the goal of the college non-English-major English teaching reforms as well as the measures we should take, and it points out ten professional capacities college English teachers should possess.
