The thesis introduces the concept self - consciousness to analyze the key reason of the two black girls＇ different fates in the novel, it indicates that the black can help their children avoid the white culture in-filtration by love under the shock of strong white culture, and encourages their children to grow up healthily in adverse circumstances.
