研究界一般把《红与黑》的主题归结为政治、社会、爱情或于连的个人命运等。本文认为小说蕴含了作者对人的幸福观这个哲学问题的深刻思考。于连的幸福观是从平民、小资产阶级和凡人三个身份视角展开,呈现出多元性取向。作者对幸福的定义即是于连临终前在狱中领悟到的凡人的幸福。如何得到幸福,仍然是人类永恒的难题,于连的"迷"与"觉"正是对这个问题的反思和回答。
