A Commentary of the Research on Thomas Hardy's Poetry

托马斯.哈代是英国维多利亚时代晚期的重要作家之一,其"性格与环境小说"历来备受研究者的重视。然而,哈代本人无论在文学理论或实践方面都对诗歌给予了相当程度的重视。早在哈代发表第一部诗集之初,国外诗歌评论界对他的创作就颇为关注。相比之下,国内学者对哈代诗歌的翻译与研究较为滞后。本文试图通过综合评述国内外关于哈代诗歌的研究现状,为学者进一步研究哈代诗歌创作风格的独特性提供借鉴。

Thomas Hardy, as one of the most important writers in late Victorian Period, was paid great attention by most critics because of his “nature and environment novels”. However, Hardy threw most of his energy into the writing practice of poetry. As early as his first poetry anthology was published, Hardy was widely known on the Parnassus of English speaking countries, while the translation and research work of Hardy＇ s poetry on the mainland of China was falling behind. This article mainly discusses the present situation of the research work on Hardy＇ s poetry, so as to give possible references to scholars for further study.
