南水北调中线控制性工程丹江口大坝加高工程2005年9月26日开工,淹没区的文物保护工作成为继三峡文物保护工作之后的又一特大型文物保护工程.自2004年开始,南水北调中线工程沿线各省市有关考古专家对淹没区文物点进行了抢救性发掘与保护,取得了一批重大考古成果.

The middle line control project of South-north Water Transferring, the heightening of Danjiangkou Dam began on September 26, 2005, cultural relics protection in the submerged area has become another big cultural relics protection project after Three Gorges cultural relics protection project. Since 2004, archaeologists along the middle line of South-north Water Transferring have carried out rescue mining and protection to the cultural relics in the submerged areas and made great achievement.
