Phase-based Derivation under Split CP Hypothesis

乔姆斯基近期发表了几篇有关语段推导理论的文章,认为句子应按语段分阶段推导生成。结合Rizzi的CP分裂假说,ForceP取代CP成为强语段。在感叹句的语段推导过程中,wh-成分移入Spec-Force,以删除中心语Force的边缘特征。从而成功地将CP分裂假说与语段推导结合起来。

Recently, Chomsky published a few articles on derivation by phase, holding that a clause is derived phase by phase. In place of CP, ForceP assumes the role of a strong phase under Rizzi＇s Split CP Hypothesis. Wh-element moves into SPEC--force in exclamatives to delete the edge feature on force. In this way, we are able to successfully integrate Split CP Hypothesis into phase --based derivation.
