Postmodern British Fiction

时间艺术是英国后现代小说的重要诗学特征,其主要表现为时间空间一体化、读者介入叙述时间、时间逆转叙述以及叙述时间延宕。时间艺术的探索使得英国后现代小说进一步摆脱了传统线性时间的束缚,组建了新的时空秩序,并向以线性时间为基础的旧历史观进行了挑战,同时也更为深刻地反映了后现代状况下人类存在的荒诞。

Time plays a very important role in the poetics of postmodernism. The postmodern conception of time is characterized by integration of time and space, reader＇s involvement in narrative time, time-reverse narrative as well as intentional delay of narrative time. The experiment on time enables postmodern fiction to deviate from the conventional conception of linearity of time and to establish a new temporal and spatial order of narrative, which challenges the old historicism based upon the linear-time conception and reflects the absurdity of human existence.
