Synthesis and crystal structure of p-anisaldehyde salicylyl hydrazone

A novel hydrazone ligand, p-anisaldehyde salicylyl hydrazone, was synthesized in ethanol, and was characterized by elemental analysis and IR. The crystal structure of p-anisaldehyde salicylyl hydrazone was also determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction. The test results showed that the compound was triclinic,with P-l,a =0.507 89（13） nm, b =0.212 81（3） nm, c = 0.269 98（3） nm, V = 0.267 51（8） nm^3, Z = 8, Mr = 270.28, Dc = 1.342 g/cm^3, T = 25 （2）℃, F （000） = 1 136μ （Mo Ka ） = 0.095 cm^-1, R = 0.079 5 and ωR = 0. 130 4. The compound formed one-dimensional chain structure through in- tramolecular and intermolecular hydrogen bonds.
