This paper summarizes and discusses the production of acid mine drainage （AMD） and the development status of its treating technology, mainly discusses successive alkalinity producing system （SAPS） of passive water treatment technology and its treatment effect of wastewater, and draws the conclusion that SAPS would be a promising technique for the treatment of AMD.
