Translation study goes through "text monologue" to "translator' s monologue" and to "cultural monologue". Although translator turns from being a crystal ball by which the original finally cuhure can unrestrainedly penetrate into another crystal ball by which the target culture can freely traverse, the translator's personal embodiment, in the process of cognitive act, is still absent in translation studies. Translators are still subjects without body or simply disembodied subjects. Douglas Robinson, an American translation theorist, introduces into the translation study the somatic being of a translator that is both an agent and an emotional feeler in the translational act. As a result, he not only provides translator's hallow and abstract subjectivity with an embodied foundation, but also provides a primitive starting-point for the subversion of the original works' identity in the context of post-modernism.
