In the economic benefit analysis and demonstration of TGP, large amount work had been done for the flood control, power generation, navigation benefits of TGP, but the irrigation benefit for the middle and lower reach of the Yangtze river and the role of TGP in S-N water transfer were likely neglected. In fact, the irrigation benefit and the role of TGP in S-N water transfer is great. A large amount work should be done for the analysis of the irrigation benefit and the role of TGP in S- N water transfer. At present, the correlative department is revising the Yangtze River Plan, it is the right moment for the analysis and overall evaluation on the functions and comprehensive benefits of TGP.
