Birthday-related ci poetry is poetry with celebrations of birthday and self-observation of birthdays as its theme. The composing of such poetry was extremely popular in the Song dynasties, especially the Southern Song Dynasty. Since 1980s, the research into birthday-related ci poetry is winning more and more attention in the academic circle with the depth and width of research coming into different degrees of development.
