This paper expounded the significance and instancy of phosphorus removal from municipal wastewater, and the chemical technology of phosphorus removal could be utilized when the universally applied biological technology could not meet the phosphorus discharging requirements. The chemical principle, methods, project,new development and their applied prospect of phosphorus removal from wastewater were analyzed systematically. Also the aim was pointed out on chemical technology research and deveolopment of phosphorus removal from municipal wastewater nowadays.
