A Look into the Styles of the Poems by Adherents of Earlier Dynasties

遗民诗词的思想和艺术风采,主要有3类。一是直抒胸臆,激昂悲壮地表达民族立场和对异族统治的反抗,传递故国臣民的忠君爱国情操。一是借景抒怀,深沉哀婉地传达黍离之悲、隐居情怀和忧国忧民的赤子之心。一是托物言志,委婉含蓄地展现士人的品节操守。

The poems written by adherents of carlier dynasties have three styles in thoughts and writing ways. Some poems expressed the poets＂ national positions and their resistance indignantly and tragically to other nations＂ rule, and transmitted their love and loyalty to their own nations and emperors. Some poems described the desolate scenery to show their sorrowful secluded life ,and their concern about the destiny of their country and people with pathos and profound words. The third kind of pomes stressed their implicit aspirations and durable personal integrity by describing the things which have the similar qualities.
