我国自古是多民族国家，秦汉以来更以统一多民族国家屹立于世界，历史上的民族关系错综复杂。中学历史教学在处理历史上的民族关系时，应注意几个重大问题，即坚持民族平等原则，充分肯定少数民族的历史贡献，正确评判古代民族战争的是非。

In the long history, China has been a multi-national country. Since Qin and Han dynasty, the nationalities are unified, but with the complex relationship. The teaching of history on relationships of the nationalities in secondary schools should pay attention to the following important problems, sticking to the principle of national equality, fully affirming the contribution of the minority nationalities, giving correct judgment on the right and wrong of the battles between the nationalities.
