The Seven Year Itch——Sober Thought on Campus Planning

笔者审视2000年以来的大学校园规划,针对校园建设热潮中理念、方法、技术等方面出现的问题阐述了个人观点,提出文化是大学校园的根,脱离了文化与精神不可能有所谓大学校园的可持续发展,而校园规划成功的关键在于对大学的深层次思考以及建立在此基础上的合目的性、合规律性的表达。

This paper surveyed the campus planning since 2000 and discusses the problems existing in the concepts, methods and techniques in the fashionable campus construction. It proposes that since culture is the root of university campuses, a campus without culture and sprit can not have a sustainable development. It is crucial for a successful campus planning to have comprehensive consideration on the university, as well as rational and regular expressions of these thoughts.
