An effective and secure imitation strategy is based on a deep understanding of customers and market and targeted to find out their special value appeal. A company which wants to set up a successful imitation strategy need continuously shrink the gap between their current capabilities and the capabilities that realize the special value appeal, and eventually build up a special business model which can both help it to resist to revenge from the copiees and prevent imitation from the copycats.
