Discrimination about Tiele's Biography and Items in Chinese Historical Literature

汉文文献中关于铁勒族的记载是研究铁勒历史的主要史料之一。《隋书》最早为铁勒立传,是研究铁勒史的基本史料。《隋书》之后编纂的有些史书在记述有关铁勒族的事迹时,以《隋书.铁勒传》作为蓝本,辗转抄录,没有补充新内容,所以只能作为第二手史料。但有些史书在参考《隋书.铁勒传》的基础上,增补前史所无的新资料,充实新内容,史料价值较高。

The record about the Tiele＇s tribe in Chinese historical literature is one of important historical data researching on Tiele＇s history. As the first to write a biography of Tiele, Sui Shu is the basis of the research concerning Tiele. Due to descri- bing Tiele＇s achievements on the basis of Sui Shu -Biography of Tiele without any supplement, some historical records compiled after Sui Shu can only serve as second - hand historical data. However, some other records have higher academic value using Sui Shu - Biography of Tiele as reference and enriching its content by adding new data that had not been employed by the previous lit- erature. So far errors have existed in the research on Tiele and it＇s hard to make a deep exploration into some questions. All these are closely related to the understanding of relevant historical literature.
